Pink Nose
Did you know that in the winter some dogs lose pigmentation in their nose, and they get "snow nose?" I had never heard about this so it made me nervous when Eda's nose started changing color. It really is no problem though, I just have to be sure to put sunscreen on it so the pink skin doesn't get burned. Silly, huh?

Clowning around
My dear friend and fellow blogger over at Good Old Days, created this awesome post with pictures of her past creative (and hilarious) Halloween costumes.
I was inspired to show this little gem of photo with you.
Are homemade costumes not the greatest? Thanks ma.

Grandma and Grandpa Howell Visit Colorado Springs (Part One)
Grandma and Grandpa Howell were so kind to go out of the their way to come stay with us for a couple days as they made their way from MN to CA for the winter. They arrived at night, and the next day we drove up Pike's Peak. It provided us with wonderful views, but boy was it chilly! On the way down we found a sunny spot guarded from the wind, and had a little picnic.
Did you know the North Pole is actually located in Colorado? ;) |
Feeling a little cold at the peak! |
So neat! |
On the way down we were able to see Big Horn Sheep! |
I discovered yet another similarity between Jake and his Grandpa on this visit. They are both explorers. |
Lunch time! |

A Walk Around the Broadmoor
The Broadmoor is a beautiful hotel located near the base of Cheyenne Mountain in a wonderfully unique and luxurious community.
We had a wonderful time talking about the architecture and landscape
around the hotel and surrounding neighborhood, but as usual we
especially enjoyed the wildlife here in Colorado.

I Love Fall
I found this pattern on the awesome blog 'one sheepish girl' and tailored a few things down to my crochet skill level. :) I'm learning. |

My Big Fat Greek Restaurant
YUM!
If you ever get the chance to go, get LOTS of pita bread... and Saganaki (flaming cheese). The presentation is almost as amazing as it tastes. Katlin, Lizzy and me. |
Jake, Anthony ( Lizzy's fiance) and Ricky (Katlin's husband). They both work with Jake. |
Jake got SO much food that not only did he enjoy it for dinner that night but he brought the leftovers to work for lunch the next 2 days. |

Eda's New Pals
Sometimes when I make friends... Eda gets friends too!
Here she is with her buddy Landon. He stopped by last night after he made a trip to the PetSmart by my house. (One of his fish ate the other one. A sad story, but quite hilarious when he tells it).
Today Eda got really spoiled with a puppy play date. Meet Bristol (the shepherd) and Barney (the husky in the middle).

Laura's Wedding
This weekend I made a quick a trip to South Dakota for my cousin's country wedding. She was stunning, the ceremony was beautiful, the reception was full of adorable details and fun.
What an amazing day, celebrating the marriage of Zach and Laura!

Apples and Oranges...err... Peaches
Our peaches and apples were ready and needed to be picked before the creatures got to them. We got TONS, and there are still a lot left on our trees! We don't have a lot of freezer space so we bought a dehydrator and have been busy making dried fruit. It is so easy and delicious!
Anyone want to stop by for some peach cobbler or apple pie?

Labor Day Weekend
We had such a wonderful 4 day weekend together! We saw friends, cooked, did some housework and yardwork, but mostly, we enjoyed just hanging out with each other.
We met some friends at the dog park and came armed with peaches. We have an abundance to share! |
Eda is so tired and soggy after a good trip to the dog park. I think we went there 3 times this weekend. Lucky pup! |
